Weird Log Entries

I have about 1000 of these entries:
87.106.95.174 [2012-10-29 12:25:11] 'CP User Login Attempt Failed' ('Login Name': 'admin' => '')
87.106.95.174 [2012-10-29 12:25:13] 'CP User Login Attempt Failed' ('Login Name': 'admin' => '')
87.106.95.174 [2012-10-29 12:25:14] 'CP User Login Attempt Failed' ('Login Name': 'admin' => '')
87.106.95.174 [2012-10-29 12:25:15] 'CP User Login Attempt Failed' ('Login Name': 'admin' => '')

Not sure what might be happening or why?

My guess would be someone trying to guess your admin login password.

A quick IP lookup points towards a German IP address...

Always make sure you use a highly secure password for all your server logins.

Looks like it is attempts to login as admin. Make sure that you have strong password.

Thanks, I blocked that IP and 2 more seem to be doing the same thing, is there a way to prevent this after a certain amount of attempts?
