What is numfile in plesk 10 and how to fix it?

Today my vps hosting got very slow so I started to investigate the reason. The only thing I could find is that the numfile parameter is in red zone for some reason? Can anyone please tell what this means and what problems could it cause?

It is a Virtuozzo Containers related parameter. It´s mean the number of files opened by all virtual environment processes.

You just need to ask your provider to increase the limit he adjusted. If you are using Plesk 10.4.4 MU#5, ask for a limit of 2000
