  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Hi,

When I install Plesk, I think it will be good if I can install into a very clean machine, so which of the following sequence is better? (my machine is running FreeBSD)

1. Install FreeBSD
2. Install Plesk
3. Install Apache, mysql.... etc.

Or

1. Install FreeBSD
2. Install Apache, mysql.... etc.
3. Install Plesk

Are there any prerequistue (in terms of applications, such as apache) before installing Plesk?

Thanks.
Baako

The Plesk installation manual says it all.
First install the required packages ... THEN install Plesk.

Plesk on FreeBSD is like a big "bundle" of apps. It already includes apache, bind, qmail, mailman, etc. So you dont need to manually install any of those.

There are some other basic packages and changes required to run Plesk properly on FreeBSD, and not all of them are in the docs. heh! But if you're asking if you can start it up after installing the Plesk package on a clean system, the basic answer is yes.
