wildcard subdomains

Hello

I have installed wordpress mu on my server, and all is well except wordpress will create new accounts for user and assign tehm subdomains in the subdomain.domain.com format.
I have no idea , nor does my host, how to setup apache wildcard subdomains, I found some info here

But I can't seem to be able to find nor create the vhost.conf file?

any help?
