xinetd submerges /var/log/messages

Since I'm using CentOS 5 (with all updates), /var/log/messages gets submerged by the same log message all time over again:

Mar 8 14:17:10 xxx xinetd[2409]: EXIT: smtp status=1 pid=4638 duration=5(sec)
Mar 8 14:17:13 xxx xinetd[2409]: START: smtp pid=4659 from={ip-address}

CentOS 4 didn't have that "problem". What's the cause and how can I fix it?

I Googled a lot, but I can't find anything related.

I've been getting the same messages over and over - crashed the server!!

Apr 12 14:38:28 ip-208-109-248-XXX xinetd[2089]: EXIT: smtp status=0 pid=23513 duration=3(sec)
Apr 12 14:38:31 ip-208-109-248-XXX xinetd[2089]: EXIT: smtp status=0 pid=23520 duration=4(sec)

Any ideas - xinetd service and qmail are running.
