Annoying but I managed to fix this by moving the subscription to another subscriber (customer). I didn't check if it stays fixed when moving back, since I didn't need to do that.

I'll just add a few comments which I hope can save others even more time.
1) yum groupinstall "MySQL Database" installs both 32-bit and 64-bit packages. I couldn't find an option to choose which. So afterwards I did a
# yum remove...
I had my hosting provider reissue the key.
For the record the problem was because I had additional language packs installed.
I had to uninstall these packs before they could reissue the key.
Of course this had to be done through the command line since I couldn't use the panel.

About 3 or say days after above upgrade, I got emailed this message.
If I try 'retrieve keys' it's tries to do it for the demo key and doesn't work.
How can I fix this?
haha no I'm not with comcast, I did read about their interesting policies though :) actually in israel... assuming the problem is at my ISP but fwiw, the route to my server via tiscali/level3 is fine, and the problem is via the peer1 route. anyways, thanks for all the help :)

Mmm actually on a hunch I piped all my connection through ssh and it's working fine! Definitely not my ISP, I can access my other Plesk installations on the same port number fine. I guess I will sort this out with my hosting provider. Don't know how to try isolate this, all my other...
