Hi Friends There is another way to set file/folder permissions... go to the "Files" tab where you can get the list of files and folders. Put mouse over the file/folder for which you want to change permission settings. You will see a small icon on the right hand side of the file/folder list...

[Solved] It seems that the upgrade task failed in between and that was the reason I got stuck. I downloaded the panel installer from http://www.parallels.com/download/plesk/installer/ and did the installation process manually as per the instructions provided. Now the panel is working perfectly...
