  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk 12.5 PHP-FPM - pool config not removed when PHP support turned off

Even for domains which NEVER had PHP support (created in a subscription with a service plan without PHP support), good ol' Plesk generates PHP config, i.e. for EVERY domain on the server, it would seem. That is because in its hosting table it ALWAYS puts a valid entry as the 'php_handler_id'...

Resolved Proxy mode off: bug and problems with nginx config

@einstein Yup there sure is more needed - my modifications completely remove all Apache config for all domains on the server, and PHP handling in nginx, cos they do the latter in a way which does not suffice for all applications. So what you need to do is to link an own Nginx configuration file...

Resolved Proxy mode off: bug and problems with nginx config

Hi @einstein thanks for raising this - it gave me cause to check out the current situation. Indeed, recently (I think around mid march 2017) Plesk made a small improvement in nginxDomainVirtualHost.php: After line 55 they have improved the handling of sslRedirect, inserting about 5 lines which...

Resolved Dr. Web will not start after Upgrade to Plesk 17.5.3

CODE Brackets added - good tip. And thanks for the 2 links - I had read earlier versions (Plesk 12.5), but these are the current ones, very useful.

Resolved Dr. Web will not start after Upgrade to Plesk 17.5.3

After a tip from Plesk support (thanks to Hetzner for submitting my report) I finally found the problem: I had been using an explicit set of SSL ciphers, which I researched a couple of years ago, and which were state of the art at the time. When you set them via the Plesk CLI command...

Resolved Dr. Web will not start after Upgrade to Plesk 17.5.3

Footnote: The server in question only has one domain with a small number of mail accounts, not heavily used - so the SpamExperts Extension (1 Domain, Incoming only, no archiving) would only cost 2,70 € + VAT / month. At that price I could give it a try - tomorrow...

Resolved Dr. Web will not start after Upgrade to Plesk 17.5.3

Hi all, @UFHH01 now I see what you mean about privacy - I included the response from the curl request to Plesk, will remove. However experiment has shown that that request always delivers exactly the same "response=..." - on Debian and Ubuntu, before and after upgrade. So it's not very personal...

Resolved Dr. Web will not start after Upgrade to Plesk 17.5.3

Thanks @UFHH01 - not your first reply to topics of mine, I really do appreciate the help! I have not published my key file - I don't have one; I only noted the file path where it would be / is looked for, a standard location. But the reminder to all of us is never amiss! Maybe we're all tired at...

Resolved Dr. Web will not start after Upgrade to Plesk 17.5.3

Rolle rückwärts === Scrub that (re Kaspersky). Plesk Installer allows you to install it - but then you need a licence - which costs 26.99€ / Month + VAT, see here. So I checked out alternative solutions: Waiting for a reply from Hetzner A Plesk page mentions "E-Mail Security Packs" combining...

Resolved Dr. Web will not start after Upgrade to Plesk 17.5.3

Thanks Peter, I tried this but the problem was not solved. I also put the same question to Hetzner Support and got this reply: es gab temporär Probleme bei der Auflösung der Dr.Web Hostnamen. Diese sind nun wieder erreichbar. Wenn Sie das Update nun nochmals laufen lassen, sollte Dr.Web...

Resolved Dr. Web will not start after Upgrade to Plesk 17.5.3

The vServer (at Hetzner, Germany) runs Debian 8, all Packages are current. Today I ran the Upgrade from Plesk 7.0.17 to Plesk 17.5.3 via Plesk Installer GUI. That ran through fine, but afterwards Dr.Web (drwebd) would no longer start, not even after a Reboot of the vServer. #...

    Issue certificate for securing mail

Now I worked this out for myself: In Plesk: Tools & Settings | SSL/TLS Certificates | Certificate for securing mail > If this is NOT "Unknown" then Plesk tries to manage the default certificates for Dovecot and Postfix. o Once selected, Plesk GUI offers no way back. To get back to "Unknown"...

Input Plesk internally retains PHP config after switched off for a domain

If a domain was ever registered in Plesk with PHP Support, it still has the entries for that in some tables, even when support has been turned off. This leads to nasty side effects: When the PHP config for Plesk is regenerated, the fpm pool configs get generated for Domains w/o PHP support -...

    Issue certificate for securing mail

I find it very unhelpful that I cannot revert to 'Unknown' (the GUI will not let me, nor is there a CLI command). I have own scripts outside of Plesk which manage the certificates for dovecot, postfix and ProFTPD. @IgorG You are surely right regarding "default certificate" - BUT the internal...

Issue High Apache CPU usage but my server uses Nginx the apache have been turn off for everysite

See my thread https://talk.plesk.com/threads/shocking-plesk-still-generates-httpd-config-with-proxy-mode-off.340033/ The problem is that Plesk still generates Apache Configs even when "Proxy mode" is off. At the moment custom templates (for Apache, basically rip out most of the code) is the...

    [PPPM-5479] Package Update Manager notification

Hi, I noticed that all my Onyx-managed Servers send me a daily notification of outstanding system updates - even when there are no updates available. Such mails are simply a waste of my time, an irritation. So I had a look - I can only choose between daily and weekly notification. There is no...

Resolved nginx repo missing in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/plesk.list

Hi, this is Onyx 17.0.7 freshly installed on a KVM-based VPS at Contabo, running Debian 8.6 I was irritated by the messages from apt-get "Ignoring file 'plesk.list.ai_back'..." and found in some threads here that it is a backup file left by the Autoinstaller, and that I can delete it manually...

Resolved pam_systemd(ftpd:session): Failed to connect to system bus

Hi @UFHH01, magic - that worked! I had not previously stumbled on D-Bus - a simple interprocess messaging system, used for sending messages between applications. Being as I'm on Debian with systemd, it would be more futuristic using systemctl: # update-rc.d dbus defaults # systemctl restart...
