When the files and folders already are in the new location there shouldn't be a reason to move any files. But files located at the new location are ignored but the files in the previous are still used : changing the root directory has no effect for us.
Changing the Document Root in Hosting Settings seems to have no effect. The files hosted still sit at the old location.
How can we succesfully change the Document Root for a domain?
Thanks Peter, It seems not related with WordPress. A simple info.php file (containg a call to phpinfo.php) is also not found.
The complete preview url is :

And I have to apologize, wanted to anynomise this question be using "name" instead of "dwh" but forgot that halfway.
So the contents of /httpsdocs/dwh contains index.php
but it can only be found with the .htaccess redirect, although the Webhosting settings has "httpsdocs/dwh" as Document Root.
The .htaccess only exists in /httpdocs/ not in the subfolder. its contents
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !dwh/
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /dwh/$1
which does redirect all requests to /httpsdocs/dwh. (But if the DocumentRoot is /httspdocs/dwh it would in principle redirect to...
The setting to /httpsdocs/dwh was done about 12hrs ago. I currently test by renaming .htaccess. So yes I guess the restart interval did expire. Is there a way to confirm this?
Thanks Peter, No it is not a WordPress site.

We have a couple of subscribers wich no longer sync. Apparently the DNS Master/Slave prohibits a sync.

How do we solve these conflicts and get the subscriptions...
Thanks, yes that is so simple you'd think nothing can go wrong. But it doesn't work for us. The site is not available after being moved. Not immediately not after 15min and not after a 24 hours. So there must be missing something in that description.
In order to get or production server working...
After moving the Document root to another folder and updating the Hosting settings accordingly the website is no longer accessible, even after waiting for about 60min.
What additional steps are required when the document root is moved?
