Basic Pleskian
Hi,
I updated my Plesk with a few security updates today. I was not any major update, I was running 11.0.9 before and I run it now too.

Since then I am getting around 50 emails every minute:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at MyDomain.com.
I tried to deliver a bounce message to this address, but the bounce bounced!

I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

Guys,
Please help, I have 5000 emails in the queue.
Seems like email recive doesn't work at all, and Cron (or who??) is constantly sending email to drweb, and it bounces to my google mail.

How do I stop Cron from sending? Is it Cron at all?

I stopped Cron service and I stopped DrWeb service - but qmail something is still adding emails to Qmail.

The only way to stop receiveing bounced mails to my gmail accound is by stopping Qmail in Plesk.

What is adding this emails to Qmail?
Why doesn't Qmail send mails?

The Qmail log says:
"failure: Sorry,_no_mailbox_here_by_that_name._(#5.1.1)"

It says the same for all emails, so nothing works.

I just tried with mchk, I rebuilt email configuration with mchk, but still the same happens: emails are not delivered "no mailbox with that name".

What could go wrong?

Does this tell anything?

Try to rebuild mail configuration on your server

Code:
/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk --help
Restore settings for all mailboxes.
Usage: /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk [OPTION]

OPTIONS:
--without-spam restore all settings except for SpamAssassin configuration
  --with-spam restore all settings
  --spam-only restore only SpamAssassin settings

Usage example:

Code:
/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk --with-spam

/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk --with-spam

It did not help.

I am confused about the /var/qmail/control/locals and /var/qmail/control/me.

This post http://kb.parallels.com/en/797 says "Make sure that the domain to which you sent mail is not listed in the "/var/qmail/control/locals" configuration file. The file must contain the entry, "localhost" only."

However, my "locals" and "me" files contain this:
localhost
localhost.localdomain
MyDomain.com

because MyDomain.com is the name I entered in Plesk/Server Settings/Full Hostname.

I removed MyDomain.com from "locals" file and Qmail started working.

What is the rigth thing to do?
What should I enter in Plesk/Server Settings/Full Hostname? Plesk seems to copy this to "locals" file.

However, my Qmail queue is getting bigger and bigger, now 20.000 emails.

After I remvoed MyDomain.com from "locals" file, I can send email, however, I get notifications that message could not be delivered even it is delivered. Any idea?

I resolved the issus by changing permissions to "handlers" and "hooks" folders to 755.

However, I am still confused by which "Full hostname" should I give to server? If it's the same as my email domain, then this domain will end up in the "locals" file, and this post http://kb.parallels.com/en/797 says "Make sure that the domain to which you sent mail is not listed in the "/var/qmail/control/locals" configuration file. The file must contain the entry, "localhost" only."

One additinoal note: after having some trouble with reverse dns, I went to dnsstuff.com and let it check my dns settings. I got a warning that "The hostname in the SMTP greeting does not match the reverse DNS (PTR) record". The I went to here and saw that my /var/qmail/control/me file is not a FQDN, it has only one entry: "myserver1.mydomain.com". I manually changed this to "mydomain.com" and now the warning is gone. Can I change "me" file manualy? Will it be overwritten by Plesk again? (myserver1 I made up when I gave the "Full hostname" name to the server in the plesk pannel.)

And again, I am still confused by which "Full hostname" should I give to server? If it's the same as my domain, then this domain will end up in the "locals" file and this post http://kb.parallels.com/en/797 says "Make sure that the domain to which you sent mail is not listed in the "/var/qmail/control/locals" configuration file. The file must contain the entry "localhost" only."

What to do?
