11.5: Which MySQL version is safe to update to? Currently 5.1.68

MrWooples

New Pleskian
Hi guys,

I have Windows 2008 server with Plesk 11.5 installed on it, but the MySQL version is 5.1.68. 5.1 itself dates all the way back to 2005 and the newest version is 5.6'ish.

I tried to Google my way to some instructions on how to upgrade MySQL on Plesk 11.5 on Windows and to find out which MySQL versions the Panel supports, but I have come up short.

Since I have 5.1.x, do I need to remain within the 5.1.x versions and only upgrade to 5.1.73 which was released december 2013?
Or is it safe to upgrade to, say, 5.5.x or something like that?

Where can I see which version Panel officially supports/recommends?

Thanks in advance :)

Many thanks for the reply. I'm more confident staying with MySQL 5.1 since it's the official supported version, then.

I installed Panel 11.5.30 few days ago and MySQL version is (still?) 5.1.68 as mentioned, will 5.1.73 be included in a future Panel upgrade or should I upgrade to that one myself?

Thanks again!

you can upgrade it, but remember you can not downgrade it. So incase your scripts re supporting latest mysql then make sure you take backup of all your dbs.
