• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

1and1 Root Server WebMail vs. Horde?!?!?!

I know there are people here using 1and1.com's root servers. I'm interested in hearing feedback on what people like to use more, 1and1's WebMail or using Horde in Plesk?

I would assume that one advantage of using Horde over WebMail would be that domain administrators could create and manage there own mail accounts verses the root server admin having to do it.

Is there an advantage of using one over the other?

Any feedback is GREATLY appreciated! :)

I pretty much had my own opinion on the matter, but I was hoping to hear others opinion on it also.

Seems pointless given plesk is not about to just intergrate 1 and 1's webmail system into plesk....

Horde is great

Personally I just find 1&1's (UK) webmail system slow and cumbersome to use, especially when having to resort to a dial-up connection. So for me, its Horde.

I much prefer Horde to 1and1's webmail, both from an admin point of view and a user standpoint.
