Hi. I accidently removed my plesk installation with apt remove curl. At /var/lib/psa/dumps/ I can see backups of my installation. How can I restore my Plesk?

Will you please provide us with more details like, if you have a full backup of the plesk panel or just backup your site?

If you have a full backup of the Plesk panel and database, you can try to place the backup in the installation directory of the Plesk panel.

Hello. Thanks for your reply. Honestly I don´t know well where to find the backups of plesk. At /var/lib/psa/dumps/ I can see files like mysql.plesk.core.prerm.18.0.28.20220513-131928.dump.gz, mysql.daily.dump.0.gz, backup_info_2205050003.xml with recent backups.

you can try restore Plesk using console command

plesk repair installation

another way, is to re-install plesk at the same machine with Plesk installer (it can be downloaded from http://autoinstall.plesk.com/plesk-installer)
and after Plesk will be re-installed - you will be able to restore your sites from existing backup files.

also there is an option to submit ticket to the Technical Support.
In case you're not eligible for option above, you can reach Plesk Technical Support directly.

first of all I strongly recommend you to make a full server backup before proceed.
In case using virtual server (AWS/Google cloud/Azure/etc it should not be difficult but can help to avoid unnecessary problems).

just download console autoinstaller and execute it:

wget http://autoinstall.plesk.com/plesk-installer; bash -c ./plesk-installer --all-versions

and choose exactly the same version that was installed before disaster.

Today I made a snapshot and also I created a backup of each folder with

tar -cvpzf backupname.tar.gz /etc

Trying to connect to autoinstall.plesk.com with

wget http://autoinstall.plesk.com/plesk-installer; bash -c ./plesk-installer --all-versions

fails with

Connection timed out

Also I don´t know which was the last version of Plesk because it deleted the /usr/local/psa/ folder.

but it seems something wrong with your network configuration.

please check that autoinstall.plesk.com resolves and reachable for you by http and https protocols.


as about version, then it would be better to use latest available.
just execute plesk-installer without params and it will be started in interactive mode.
