  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Input Add warnings for unsupported operating systems and MySQL/MariaDB versions in the Dashboard

Many Plesk users are still running outdated operating systems and unsupported versions of MySQL/MariaDB. This often leads to issues such as non-functional repositories, failed updates, or even database errors. Plesk only supports LTS versions of MySQL/MariaDB, but this isn’t always immediately clear to administrators.

Plesk recently introduced a useful Dashboard that provides administrators with an overview of their server’s status. Currently, the Dashboard displays "Server Information," including the OS version. I propose the following improvements:
  1. Add a warning when the OS is approaching end-of-life:
    • Display an orange warning when the OS has 6 months or less of support remaining.
    • Display a red warning when the OS is end-of-life and no longer receives updates.
  2. Display the MySQL/MariaDB version in the Dashboard and include a warning if the installed version is unsupported by Plesk.
These warnings could also include links to support articles explaining the risks and offering steps to resolve the issues.

By adding color-coded warnings, administrators can quickly assess the urgency of the situation and take appropriate action before problems occur. Does anyone else agree with this approach or have similar experiences?

Hi Sebahat.hadzhi, I've split the original UserVoice request into two separate requests as requested. Here are the links to both submissions:
