adding cronjaob via php and crontab

jospBln

New Pleskian
hello,

I would like to add a cronjob in php with
PHP:
passthru(crontab $file)
But when I do as root a
crontab -l
it says
DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - edit the master and reinstall.

So, if I use crontab to add a cronjob, will it be in the right place?

I guess it has something todo with the user you're running it from. If you're running a script the script is executed with permissions from the service.

Example:
If you write a file to the server it will have apache rights by default.

I never did the thing you're trying to do but i guess it could be set under user apache. Try crontab -l -u apache

Why won't you add the cron job via the Plesk interface?

-Nevermind, I read it wrongly-
