  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Allowing Access to Protected URL

Hello All.
I'm a bit new to all this but I am wondering if any experts can help.

I need to secure a directory using plesk protected url and I would like to authorise user access via a MySql database.
The Mysql database has been running for years now with quite a few users already, but I need now to allow these existing users and new users access to a protected URL and to stop anyone else downloading files contained within the protected url.
The main reason for protected url is the popup windows auth window that I need.
I can change the header and auth via php but I cannot auth the user this way for my project and Java is out of the question.

I believe that this may be achieved via a pluggin for IIS but I have no idea which one or how to use with plesk.

Any help would be greatfully recieved.

Plesk Protected URL ISPAI Filter

Hello All.

With furthur investigation I've found that plesk installs a filter into the protected directory website. What is this for? and Can I use this for my purposes?

Any...I mean ANY help at all might be nice..

Hello Shorts,

Unfortunately it is impossible to integrate your application users with Plesk Protected URLs yet.
However I believe this is useful functionality that is worthy to be implemented.
