Apache Memory High

Cameron_W

New Pleskian
Hi,

We are currently running plesk 11.5 and over the last few months, the apache memory usage has been very high. On investigation we have gone through the logs and we can't find a cause.

I can issue a service httpd restart and the memory drops for about 30 minutes and then we see the apache memory grow to almost 1.5 - 2GB. Any suggestions why this keeps happening?

Hi,

I think infected scripts are running on your server and due to that you are getting this issues. I will suggest you please scan your whole server through LMD (Linux Malware Detect )

Hi,

Okay, Try to check current Apache connection on your server through following command if there is any DDOS attack running on your any site and try to install nginx as reverse proxy on your server

Code:
netstat -apn | grep ":80" | wc -l

Hi InderS,

I ran it the first time and got around 20 then 5 minutes later > 100

As per the current Apache connection there is no DDOS attack on your server, I will suggest you install nginx as reverse proxy OR optimize your httpd services
