• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

i am administrating a vps account using plesk for the first time and after setting up a hosting account have noticed a bunch of directories in the web space when i setup the site in dreamweaver. i clicked on remote view and found about 10 different directorys ranging from private, cgi, httpdocs, etc.... i couldn't upload to the root of the web space because I was denied access and i finally figured out that httpdocs housed my index.html that is auto generated through plesk. are all these directories normal? i'm normally just used to having an empty space on previous shared hosting services i've paid for in the past. did i accidently give this account root access to the server?

Each created domain is going to have that set of folders. Normal.
