ASP.NET Web Form smtp Delay

Hi,

When sending an email from a ASP.NET web page, there is a delay of approximately 10 seconds.

When sending an email using a PHP script it is instant.

This occurs when sending to both hosted and not hosted email accounts. Also the asp.net code is fine as I have used the same code on many different sites.

Does anybody have an insight into why this delay is occurring?
