• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • (Plesk for Windows):
MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51, 5.1, and 5.3 are no longer shipped with Plesk because they have reached end of life. MariaDB Connector/ODBC 64-bit 3.2.4 is now used instead.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Question Backup copy in two places

llucas

Basic Pleskian
Server operating system version
Debian 11.11
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64
Hello, good morning

I have a question about backups. I've been using Plesk for a while and I have a question. What is the difference between making copies of the domain and doing it through the PLESK tools?

If I do it per domain, I have it set to make a copy at 03:00 A.M. and it does so and then I have another copy on the server set at 04:00 A.M.

They take up almost the same amount of space. Are they the same copies? and why do I have two copies.

Thanks for your help, greetings,

I attach two screenshots

Luis

Hi Luis,

The fundacioncarf.org webspace/subscription has it's own Plesk backup plan. You also have a server wide backup plan. That is why you have 2 backups for the same website.
If you take server wide backups, then disable the website backup plan or move it to a more useful time, as far away as possible from the server wide backup. However, that will use additional disk space.
I also recommend using remote storage for the Backup storage.

Thank you very much Raul for your help.

I leave the server copy and it does everything for me.

Good day!!
Luis
