  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Backup Problem

When we run the plesk backup routine, we always end up with sites that won't display. We get the login prompt for them. This then requires the fix from another thread where we use the command line to issue a websrvmgr --remove-vhsot and then --reconfigure-vhost and the problem is then resolved, but this obviously is causing a serious problem.

Thanks for any help!

interestingly clients can delete / modify directories or some portion of the directories in their web root (i.e statistics directory)
via FTP.

if the directory structure is broken as above then Plesk fails on during both Backup & Statistics calculations when finds such a problematic domain.

sad but true....

So, you are saying this si simply a problem with Plesk and we have to live with it?

i believe so... cause i had posted this bug and resolution just after 7.5 is released , still no progress , no update.

You posted the resolution? Can you share it or provide me with the link please?

:)

you already know the solution , you have to fix the directory structure and ACL (sometimes) manually :( and start over

unfortunately this is the only solution currently available,

The real solution (that plesk should take care of) is a more clever ACL design for the FTP root, so that clients wont be able to delete / recreate directories.
