Hi,

Does backup feature for end user or server admin not backup / restore website data and custom file permissions ?

I done a test.

I created folder called "test2" in "httpdocs" folder and set custom permissions using Plesk file manager.

I then made backup and removed "test2" folder.

I restored from backup and the "test2" folder was not recreated.

I tried this process again with server admin backup tool - no luck with either of them.

It seems like plest doesn't backup site data or custom NTFS permissions that are set using the plesk file manager permissions manager..

SW-SOFT - If it doesn't backup domain data it should say clearly - Backup your site data as this backup tool does not !

Thanks,
Dave

Hi

As far as I know Plesk doesn't backup custom file permissions, but backup all data inside httpdocs folder.

Correct, permissions are all set to the same for each customer backed up, nothing custom though.

Hi all,

Thanks for replies.

I done a test and it did not restore folder in httpdocs folder so it seems like there are bugs in backup / restore or maybe the backup does not work using the trial license ?

End user control panel backup and main server backup utility both failed to make backup of folder in httpdocs folder and / or restore it.

Thanks,
Dave
