• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Best Practise Customer/client setup

Wild Thing

New Pleskian
Hi guys I have just migrated from 8.6 to 11.x so please be gentle with me. I have the hosting plans setup ok but I would like advise on how to set up our clients. Basically it is a company webserver covering 2 deparments. In 8.6 we just setup client a and client b and give them a few ip addresses and then the could add their websites. In 11 what is the best way to do this.
Client A will have unlimited access to everything and have numerous websites
clent B will have access to 3 hosting plans and again numerious websites

is it best to do this via customers or resellers.

Thanks Brian

If you want them manage multiple IP addresses on their own and they have their own hosting plans - Reseller account is the only choice.

Sorry should have said, I am the only one that will be administrating the plesk server, client a will have 6 ip addresses and client b will have 2, they basically tell me what websites they want added and i perform the actions. The only things clients a and b would be interested in doing is adding email addresses and basic hosting housekeeping at a minimal level.

This way Resellers aren't mandatory and you can go with Customers. You can setup 6 subscriptions - one for each IP for a customer and add a site into a respective subscription (IP) when necessary. Specifics of Plesk 10+ is that a subscription ("webspace" when for your own use) represents a system account, common folder and common IP.
