  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Bind Stops Responding

Hi,

My server did an update on friday that installed the caching-nameserver rpm. I have removed it, restored the named.conf, created the sym links to named.conf and rndc.key that are located in /var/named/run-root/etc verified that all keys match and re-started bind. Everything will work fine for a few hours but then names are no longer resolved. Named shows as still running when I do a ps aux and does not respond to service named stop so I kill the process and restart named and everything is fine for awhile until the same thing happens. I also upgraded to plesk 8.4 from 8.3

Anyone have any ideas why it locks up?

Remove the caching only server and restart bind. Should work fine.

--Prowler318.

Also you might want to think about updating BIND or securing ....
