Broken image links in WPB - Internet explorer

Will-NYESDigital

Regular Pleskian
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE
Parallels Plesk Panel 11.5.30 MU #44 CentOS 6.5 (Final) 64bit

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Broken image links in Web Presence Builder when using Internet Explorer

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Log in to Web Presence Builder, go to a text and image module. Click on an uploaded image and drag to a different area e.g. one cell of a table to another.

ACTUAL RESULT
When viewing the published result in Internet Explorer, any images that have been moved show as red crosses. Normal working links for these images show as http://www.domain.com/attachments/picture.jpg whereas images that have been moved show as https://www.servername.com:8443/sitebuilder/sites/f5/f59ee6b163d8ad4e3844de1b247e0400. In order to show correctly the images must be deleted, and re-uploaded.

EXPECTED RESULT
Images should show as normal when clicked on and dragged, as they do in other browsers.

ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The images can be shown if you select show content (certificate issue on ie) but are still being loaded from the wrong place.

Hi there,

Which IE version do you use?
Please try to update WPB to the latest version. If you can still reproduce issue, please let me know here.

Hi Egor,

I'm using IE9 but we have clients using various versions, who are having the same problem viewing images.

The problem is the same regardless of which browser you use to edit. I have just tested it again, editing in Firefox then viewing it in IE, initially the image did work when viewing in IE, but when I clicked and dragged it elsewhere then refreshing IE, the image no longer loaded. My colleague uses Chrome to edit sites and has the same end result.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce your issue. I've checked in PP 11.5.30 Update #47 using Chrome and IE 11. Images are always visible.
It looks like additional investigation is needed. I recommend you contact with Parallels Technical Support.

Hi

I have recreated an example for you on this page: http://manfield.n-yorks.sch.uk/drop-down-menu/test/

There are 2 images yet when viewing in IE only the top one shows. The image not showing was one that had been dragged/moved within the page and when doing so changes the reference link in the html. We have quite a few reports of this now so it's becoming more of an issue.

Regards

Russel, you mean that in the source code image link changes to something like in your example:
https://sict-services.co.uk:8443/si...mage/activemark-2008-flat_2.png?1404308482148
This happens when you move images using IE?

I have actually seen that happen to some of our customers also. We haven't been able to find the reason. I also use Chrome and I haven't tried moving the images so that could be why it doesn't happen to me, but could happen to someone using IE.

Anyway, this post was just to confirm that we have also seen this bug happen to some of our customers. If we see it again, we will check if IE has been used and what version.

Hi

The issue happens when the image is moved within the editor in not just IE but Chrome/Firefox as well but is only apparent on the live site when viewing in IE.

Regards
Kris.

Could this issue be logged with the WPB devlopers ? as this is a bug / error in the WPB software

It is still a problem in the newest version of WPB and several of our clients have now made a mess of their website by dragging and droping images which then fail to appear in IE (due to the link being incorrect).

A fix is needed asap,

Cheers

As this problem still exists, we have just now created a ticket with parallels. I hope it will speed things up a little bit.
