Resolved Can I remove the /dev/mapper/centos-home logical drive?

steveb

New Pleskian
Hi all,

I was attempting to reallocate disk space (1.2Tb) from /dev/mapper/centos-home to /dev/centos/root (50G) using the $lvreduce on the former and neglected to first reduce the /centos-home file system size. Now I'm getting a persistent "can't read superblock" error when i try to remount the /dev/mapper/centos-home logical drive. Fortunately I don't need to recover the files there....at least I think i don't!, this leads to my Plesk question.

Rather than recover the /centos-home logical drive (as suggested ==> here) , it looks like one possible solution is to completely remove the drive using the $lvremove /dev/mapper/centos-home command (as suggested ==> here).

Will this mess up Plesk? Will the back-up and restore capabilities still work o.k.? Do I need to the recreate /dev/mapper/centos-home logical volume? Should i be aware of any other risks?

I'm using Plesk Onyx Version 17.0.17 Update #23 and CENTOS 7.

Hi steveb,

"/home" is not used by Plesk, it's components or extensions, so pls. change what ever you desire here, if "/dev/mapper/centos-home" maps to "/home". ;)
