Can Mail and Hosting be seperated in Plesk

Hi there,

I am interested in using the Plesk Control Panel with a Sitebuilder. Can mail and hosting be seperated? I would only like to use Plesk for webhosting and not mail.

Thanks.

There's no problem doing this.

For each site in Plesk that you don't want email to be dealt with locally, disable email facilities (there'r an icon in the control panel for this). Doing so prevents the Plesk server attempting to deliver any email it receivs for the domain locally.

Secondly, in the DNS for the domain, make sure the MX records point to whatever server really does do the email for the domain. Or, if DNS for the domain is not local either then disable DNS for the domain too (again there's an icon to do this). You may like to specify the namservers for the domain in Plesk's DNS setting for the domain even if you switch it off. Or you could have the Plesk server act as secondary DNS for the domain.

Faris.
