Hi!

I've set authentication for smtp in the control panel of plesk, but i CAN send emails without authentication (username and password)!

Please, any suggestions?

Thank you
Marco

I'm seeing the same problem. Anyone have any ideas? Same config as a 7.5.4 server that isn't an open relay. Bug in 8.2?

You should only be able to send mail to domains hosted on the server that way. Or are you saying you can use your server as a relay without authentication? We're not seeing this problem.

Yes. I have all my domains in my rcpthosts file yet other domains are able to send mail through my server. Using the open relay test on abuse.net immediately indicates the server is an open relay and I get the message they sent.

Is the receiving address on your server, because then it's not being relayed and you got a false positive.

THANKS! You got it. Didn't even think about that. So running their anonymous test indicates no open relay.
