On Plesk for Linux mod_status is disabled on upgrades to improve Apache security. This is a one-time operation that occurs during an upgrade. You can manually enable mod_status later if needed.
And yet the error says unsupported OS so the extension hasn't fully been pushed out yet as the version you're trying to install is the older version. If you check now does it show version 3.0.0? If so then try to install it, otherwise wait until 3.0.0 is showing.
That is true; we have added support for modern OSes for Watchdog in the latest release. The KB articles about known limitations for these OSes are still updating.
If you saw the error while installing v2.x, it was expected - new OSes were added to v3.x. I believe you didn't see v3.x because of some cache in the Extension Catalog. If your server uses the Plesk feed for the extension updates, it usually helps to click "Check Now" on the Updates side or wait up to 24 hours.
