• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Cannot log into mySQL since 10.3.1 upgrade

I have several customers getting the following error from their .php code since the 10.3.1 upgrade of Plesk:

"Could not connect: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client"

When I try to log into mySQL myself using the Plesk admin/password, I get the following:

"ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost' (using password:YES)"

I've set old_passwords=1 in my.ini and restarted the mySQL service but with no success.

Help?

Thank you so much, SvetlanaS - upgrading the sites to PHP 5.x fixed the issue. Funny how the issue had not arisen until the 10.3.1 update from Parallels.
