• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue Can't restore backup from 11.x

Andre72

New Pleskian
Hi,

I have a backup done with Plesk 11.x with size of about 1.3 GB.
when it was done I don't get an error and everything seems to be fine.

I like to relocate it to a new server with Plesk 12.5 now.
When I choose "upload" in Backup-Manger it takes more than an hour and when 100% upload are done Plesk forward me to Login page.
I tried it 3 or 4 time and everytime the same result.
The backup is not shown in Backup-Manager so it seems to be no chance to just upload.

So I transfered it direct to the server and untar it with Plesk:
plesk bin pleskrestore --restore "Backup-file" -ignore-sign

Now can see a new directory with name in the /dumps/ folder but that's it.
The Backup-Manager don't note about and I don't now other way how to continue with restore.

Can somebody help to solve this issue please?

Andre

Use this workaround to solve the case:
1) Create or use any domain on the server that can provide FTP capabilities.
2) Create an FTP user account for that domain or sub-directory.
3) Upload your backup file by FTP into that FTP-storage directory.
4) Now set the backup manager to use that FTP account as the "external" FTP repository for backups. You will then see the backup.
5) Restore your file from this "external" FTP account.
