• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

CentOS 4.3 released: Any Plesk 7.5.4 issues ?

Hi .. as the topic says :

CentOS 4.3 is released. I'm using the Plesk RHEL 4 packages without problems for CentOS 4.2.

Has anyone encountered any problems after upgrading to CentOS 4.3 ?

Please mention them below.

yes plesk utterly fails to install. I get two full screens of errors. It also complains about php not being there when i can verify that it is. Plesk so far has been a nightmare and i may have to drop back to 3.6 to have a useable plesk system..:(

*update* i blew out everything plesk related and restarted. it is now trying to install the plesk packages. We'll see what happens..:)

I updated from Centos 4.2 to 4.3 without any problems, using Plesk RHEL4 packages.

If you want to use Plesk on Centos make sure you have installed Centos4.3 (just be
up2date with all packages)

and use the RHEL4 packages NOT Centos3.6 packages!

and make sure you have edited /etc/redhat-release to read "RedHat Enterprise Linux 4" instead of the Centos string.

eilko is correct. i use yum though, along with ART's PHP and MySQL packages. DO NOT use CentOS 4.3 PHP and MySQL, so make sure you exclude php* and mysql* from the package manager when upgrading the CentOS repository, and after that enable those packages for ART's repository.

Well .. i do not want to use Art's stuff .. since Plesk aimes to be compatible with RHEL 4 .. so it better be compatible with 4.3 also. Just want to keep things standard.

But i'll try first on a virtual test-machine ;)

Will post here after i'm ready.

Yes i am using RHEL4 packages. I had already changed the string to say RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 as well. Art's repo? I do have Centos 4.2 available. Should i do a minimal install with 4.2 and then try to install plesk?

I went ahead and blew out the server and reinstalled it with a minimal install. I have moddified the redhat-release file. I'll post back with what happens.

scratch that idea:

warning: /var/plesk/PSA_7.5.4/RHel4_std.updates/php-pgsql-4.3.9-3.6.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID db42a60e

error: Failed dependencies:
selinux-policy-targeted = 1.17.30-2.52.1 is needed by selinux-policy-targeted-sources-1.17.30-2.52.1.noarch

unfortunatly selinux-policy-targeted gets installed by the instlaler but then the installer lateer says it isn't. Not looking goo so far for plesk. Can anyone give me an idea as to what is wrong?

Use yum or manual download to install CentOS 4.3's selinux-policy-targeted-sources rpm yourself , and then retry the install.

That sould do the trick.

I have verified hte package is already installed. Everytime plesk says the package is not installed i can verify via yum that it is most assuredly installed.

Is there no plesk help on this? Have i wasted $200?

ok here's a question. I have a sus license. HOw do i upgrade it to v8? do i have to shoehorn v7 in there(which so far has been met with failure) and then install v8? Cna i use the webiste to upgrade my license?

Same issue here. Have CentOS 4.3 installed and PSA moans like this:

warning: /root/psa/PSA_8.0.0/update-rpm-RedHat-el4-i386/selinux-policy-targeted-1.17.30-2.110.noarch.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID db42a60e
package selinux-policy-targeted-1.17.30-2.126 (which is newer than selinux-policy-targeted-1.17.30-2.110) is already installed
Error while execute command rpm -U /root/psa/PSA_8.0.0/update-rpm-RedHat-el4-i386/selinux-policy-targeted-1.17.30-2.110.noarch.rpm
ERROR: error while executing RPM
ERROR: Installation failed

Uninstalling selinux-policy-targeted-1.17.30-2.126 will get rid of the error and continue installation.
