Question CentOS/AlmaLinux-Updates

KlausZ

Basic Pleskian
Server operating system version
CentOS 7.9
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.61 Update #5
Question about CentOS/AlmaLinux: I have updated several servers from CentOS7.9 to AlmaLinux using the script. What surprises me: CentOS servers that have not yet been updated are still getting updates! I thought there would be no more CentOS updates from July 24? On the AlmaLinux machines, on the other hand, I haven't had any updates at all. Can someone please explain this to me?
Thanks and regards, Klaus

Hi Klaus, can you share some more details? Which updates to do mean exactly? Plesk itself, or system packages? Also did you bought you Plesk licenses from the Plesk store? Or from a reseller (for example your provider)?

HI, the license is bought from my provider. And i mean updates of system packages. Yesterday the old CentOS 7.9 Server get updates for http...

If you got your Plesk license(s) from your provider they have enabled ELS (Extended Lifecycle Support) for you, which allows for prolonged CentOS 7 support and updates. I am not sure why you haven't had any updates (yet) for your AlmaLinux server(s). Don't hesitate to open a support ticket with our support team for an investigation on your server. To sign-in to support and open a ticket go to https://support.plesk.com.

If you got your license from a reseller, your reseller should provide support for you. If the reseller does not provide support, here is an alternative to get support directly from Plesk: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12388090147095-How-to-get-support-directly-from-Plesk

Hi, I guess KlausZ is talking about "yum updates": I observe the same situation and only today I got something to update, namely the kernel, MariaDB and python or something. After, say a month or so, whilst on CentOS updates were rather frequent.
