• The APS Catalog has been deprecated and removed from all Plesk Obsidian versions.
Applications already installed from the APS Catalog will continue working. However, Plesk will no longer provide support for APS applications.
  • Please be aware: with the Plesk Obsidian 18.0.78 release, the support for the ngx_pagespeed.so module will be deprecated and removed from the sw-nginx package.

TITLE:
CGroups / systemd scope units slowing down
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:
Plesk Onyx, Version 17.5.3 Update #25, Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS‬, x64
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Hi,

I can identify a new problem.

Systemd always creates a separate folder per visitor/session under /run/systemd/system.

For example:
  1. session-c288942.scope.d
  2. session-c288940.scope.d
  3. session-c288939.scope.d
The biggest problem is that systemd deletes this folder does not automatically once the connection has been disconnected.

The more folders are present here, takes the longer the restart of systemd.

Now, with CGroups enabled, the process may take a long time.

My workaround:

Create a cronjob with the following command:
Code:
systemctl |grep "abandoned" |sed "s/\.scope.*/.scope/" |xargs systemctl stop

And do the job every hour.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Open many connections until you have about 30,000 objects in the folder /run/systemd/system. Yes, that takes a long time! But then you can check exactly how long a domain update takes.

Only test this with HDD! Dont test this with SSD drives.
ACTUAL RESULT:
No automatic clean the folder: /run/systemd/system.
EXPECTED RESULT:
Automatic clean the folder over time?
ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Is this a bug of ubuntu? Systemd? Plesk? But I know that it is a problem.
YOUR EXPECTATIONS FROM PLESK SERVICE TEAM:
Help with sorting out
