• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Change Primary Domain

CrazyDave

New Pleskian
I have a VPS with one IP that is shared between several sites.
I set the server up with primary domain "A" but have since changed this to domain "B".

I changed my primary domain via:

Home> Tools & Settings> IP addresses management

I have not previously had help desk installed but now if I go to install help desk it only allows the option of installing it on the old primary domain "A".

Does anybody know how to ensure it installs on domain "B"?

Is domain B owned by the admin user, rather than a separate customer account. You can only use the install helpdesk function on a subscription owned by the admin user.

You should be able to install the helpdesk software on any other subscription by using the APS application installer under the subscription for domain B.

Thanks Dave.

Both domains were under a subscription owned by the admin user.
I decided to try removing the default domain "A" entirely as it wasn't being used but it then defaulted the install to another domain (lets call it "F") on a separate subscription. This seems quite random.

So I installed under the APS as suggested and it goes through the motions and confirms install but nothing is actually installed. There are no db changes and no application files are created in the http docs for the domain.

I don't think its worth persisting with so I've decided to give up.
