Question Change webmail URL

Hi Everyone,

I´m running plesk obsidian on ubuntu 20.04.
I´d like to chanke the URL of the webmail to mail.example.com. I´ve done this on my old server using this thread:

Hello, I have Plesk 10.2.0 with Horde webmail installed. I want to change the URL webmail.domain.com into mail.domain.com. How can I achieve this? Best regards.

Changing the URL in the webmail.php in the template directory: /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/webmail/webmail.php

So I edited the webmail.php (/usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/default/webmail) and changed all URLs from webmail to mail. After this, I can´t access webmail.example.com anymore, which is OK. But if I try to access mail.example.com I´m getting to the plesk-login-page instead of the roundcube-login-page. The servers hostname is set to hosting.example.

Any ideas?

I would really like a sollution for this. Also because plesk is used with a loth of foreign languages.
I'm migrating an old plesk server where this was used and this needs to be implemented today :-(

How about a simple workaround? Creating the desired domain and redirecting it to the real webmail domain?

It's not a good idea. We have to use mail.example.com as MX and webmail also for all our customers.

Currently, there is no standard solution to change the URL. Please consider voting for the feature here: Change webmail URL via Plesk GUI

Above mentioned behavior is normal and true, but you should be able to access webmail using https ( https://webmail.domain.tld).
there fore in the server setting to can setup http redirect to (mail.domain.com) so any one try to access the domain will automatically be redirected and webmail will also work 100%
