  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Changing the DOC root in plesk when using 2 different IP addresses

Scott Johnston

New Pleskian
I have a Plesk server and my developer want to use the same doc root files for 2 different web sites, Each site has it own IP address.

I am looking for any suggestions on how this could be done.

Can we setup the Plesk server to use the same root directory's?

Our goal is to have our credit receipts for customer represent 2 different purchases. Web site A would be on the credit card statement if the purchase was made on the WEB SITE A, if the purchase is made on WEBSITE B the credit card receipt would have WEBSITE B on the customer credit card statement.

Plesk 12.x allows creating many domains/subdomains pointing to the same document root. However, this is only possible to do in a scope of a single subscription. Two domains on different subscriptions cannot share single document root.
You can't assign two IPs to the one subscription excluding dual-stack mode (one IPv4 + one IPv6 address). Therefore, you can use shared docroot in case of one subscription with one IP address.
