Changing time and date

Hi There,

I have a Virtual private server with a plesk cp. I have tried to ammend the time and date from the control panel, but the option to set the time and date (field by field) and the NTP synchronise option are disabled.

The only option I have is to pick a time zone from the dropdown, I have tried this and it doesn't work!

NOTE: I have tried changing the date/time using the date command via SSH and I have also attempted to set the time using NTP. Neither are permitted.

It appears that my server is a day behind at the moment...

Does anyone know how I can remedy this?

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

Doh!

Hi,

Do you not think I have tried that approach?

They do not provide any real support, unless your server catches fire or summin....;)

Chars,

did you ever get this resolved? i have the same problem!

thank you
Tom

The host must correct the time on the physical node, you can't change the time on the VPS. You can link timezones though through /usr/share/zones/yourtimezone to /etc/localtime
