• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

CNAME redirects to Plesk default page

New Pleskian
Hi everyone

I seem to be having a problem setting the cname records for my domain.
Whenever I set a cname record to an existing domain, either pointing to subdomain or a domain outside of my server it will only return the Plesk default page.

E.g.
cname.mydomain.com <cname> subdomain.otherdomain.com
cname.mydomain.com <cname> subdomain.mydomain.com

I am using Plesk 11.5.30 with update #48

Also I followed the steps mentioned in other threads or forums and already restarted apache and dns services, nothing seems to help.

I recall having had a similar problem using an earlier version of Plesk (about 5 years ago) when I had to create the cname records via root access but that was a server I was familiar with so I'd prefer not having to go there again.

Any suggestions highly appreciated.
