Question Compatibility with Ubuntu 24.10

Good morning,
I would like to know if it is currently possible, or if it will be possible in the future, to install Plesk on Ubuntu 24.10, which is not compatible at the moment.

Due to internal policies, our IT department has provided me with a server running this version. I requested the LTS version, but that was not an option.

Never say never etc and this is just a guess (as someone from Plesk will reply soon) but it's pretty unlikely, as Plesk usually only supports LTS releases. It's an odd choice by your IT Department, because as is the norm with Ubuntu interim releases, it's only short term supported by Ubuntu themselves anyway, because again usually, the interim .10 and .4 releases are effectively beta test releases of the next LTS.

If you can apply lots of effort, you have enough free time (and plenty of patience), you could attempt to run Plesk on Ubuntu 24.10 and see what happens. If you snapshot your server BEFORE this attempt, then the worst case sceanrio is that you would need to revert back to this snapshot, if, the Plesk trial is untenable.

Ubuntu 24.10 is not officially supported and there are no plans to introduce support for it. Unfortunately, I don't have Ubuntu 24.10 VM at hand to test if Plesk runs. As mentioned by @learning_curve you can request a trial license and give it a try. However, since the OS is not officially supported that might not be the best idea for a production environment.

Plesk will not install on an OS that is not listed as a supported OS (I tried).

I don't know what kind of internal policies you have but if this server is going to be used for production you might want to tell your IT Department that 24.10 will not be useable (even more so since the support for it in terms of security releases and what not is ending in July of this year) and 24.04 is much more suited and stable for the workload you are needing to do. Your IT Department should understand that much at least.

Even if it isn't going to be used for production but have plans on using it for production and needing to test, having it deployed on a supported OS is always going to be better so you have a 1 to 1 comparison when you do go to deploy it for real.
