Hi,
We have a Plesk 8.1 server on a Windows Server 2003 machine with SmarterMail 4.3.2760 installed.
We noticed a few days ago that Plesk was no longer talking with SmarterMail. In fact, whenever anyone would click Mail in Plesk, Plesk would freeze at "Please Wait... loading."
When we go to Server -> Plesk Components Management, the list looks like this:
Component name Component version
Plesk Plesk AutoUpdate 8.100.2524.34264
Plesk Backup Utilities 8.1-win.build061129.18 (8.100.2524.34247)
Plesk for Windows 8.1.0
DNS Server BIND DNS Server 9.2.4
...etc...
Mail Server SmarterMail Server 4.3.2760 defaultcomponents__ì„_ç‹¥ïˆ ï“ ç—˜6
...etc...
If we click the SmarterMail link on the Plesk Components Management page we see:
SmarterMail Server 4.3.2760 defaultcomponents__ì„_ç‹¥ïˆ ï“ ç—˜6
Parameters of SmarterMail Server 4.3.2760 defaultcomponents__ì„_ç‹¥ïˆ ï“ ç—˜6
and the Login, Port, and Password text boxes are empty and we cannot click them to enter values. If we click OK we get...
Can't set component parameters:defpackagemng failed: Invalid argument --set-params at call VPackage::GetProperty. Package::GetDescription is SmarterMail Server 4.3.2760
---------------------- Debug Info -------------------------------
0: F:\Plesk\admin\plib\common_func.php3:152
psaerror(string 'Can't set component parameters:defpackagemng failed: Invalid argument --set-params at call VPackage::GetProperty. Package::GetDescription is SmarterMail Server 4.3.2760')

DefPackageMng->setPackageParameters(string 'smartermail', array)
2: F:\Plesk\admin\plib\class.ComponentConfForm.php:81
ComponentConf->update()
3: F:\Plesk\admin\htdocs\server\component_conf.php:42
Things we tried:
1) Restarting services.
2) Restarting the server.
3) Upgrading SmarterMail from 4.2x to 4.3.
4) Clicking refresh on the Components Management page.
Any ideas short of buying Plesk support?
I was considering upgrading Plesk from 8.1 to 8.2, but I want a ghost copy of the hard drive first and have not had a chance to do so yet being that this is a live server.
Any ideas or assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks.
