Configure qmail for lockdown / acceptance table

I am looking into porting my hosting from a shared server to a Virtual Private Server that uses Plesk as the UI. If someone has modified their qmail program on the Plesk environment, perhaps they could help me.

I am doing so to be able to create a Lockdown for the mail server so that a couple of domains I host (which use a third party spam filter that my MX records point to), only accept mail from the spamtrap filter. Some other domains that I host do not use the spamtrap mail filter. This is the reason for this question.

The spammers are currently able to send mail to me around the correct protocols for email, bypassing the MX records and going directly to the mail server. If I migrate to the VPS, I need to know if I can customize the acceptance table based on a domain by domain basis. I know I can set it up to block mail to the server other than the specified IP of the spamtrap server. But, can I specifically modify this lockdown for each domain.

I am very slightly tech savy, so excuse me if I have mis-represented any of the above info. I will have help with this project, but need to pre-check if this will work. My hosting company recommended to ask this question at this forum.

Thanks in advance for any help with this project.

Great question...

I also need a way to do this. I have just started using the MailFoundry appliance, and I still have spammers attempting direct delivery to my hosting server. Since the hosting server is the final destination, it will accept mail for the domains that have had their MX records altered to point to the MailFoundry device.

I would like to block the ability for outside mail servers to connect to my server, except for those IP addresses which I specifically allow.

Anyone have some tips on how to do this? Would it be in the IPTables setup? Or what?

David
