Hi

Try clicking Server

Then select mail

the window that comes up has a number of tabs along the top

virus, spam etc

check the spam settings here

Regards
Jon

I see the tabs and configured them, but when looking at the email headers, I dont see any spamassin hits on spam.

I dont think it is even running! any ideas?

Make sure you have also enabled spamassasin in the individual email accounts.

yes thats enabled also, should it be lised also in the plesk control panel? it isnt listed there also and I dont see any spamassassin service running, not any spamc or spamd process.
also my mailenable enterprise edition server is not listed in the plesk conrol panel, but it is integrated with plesk cause I can create accounts and such with plesk.
I am soooo lost! hahahha
I have enabled spamassassin at the server level and at the individual mailbox level

ok I got it to work a little bit, I had to reinstall spamassassin for some reason, I set the hits to 5. I want to update my rule base, where do you put the rules and how do you just restart spamassassin? I dont have a spamassassin service running.
so I dont know how it actually is working.
Thanks
Dave

Does anyone at all know how to restart spamassassin after putting in new rules?
it is not shown as a system service in the services.msc
and not able to restart it in the plesk control panel cause it is not there.

1. Where did you put your new spamassassin rules?! I think the right folder is "C:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\Additional\Perl\site\share\spamassassin"

2. As I tested in Plesk 8.1 I did not have to restart any service - rules got efective on copying. Otherwise I think you have to restart "Plesk Management service" and "Plesk Pop Pass service"

3. In Plesk 8.2 there is (was) a bug and spamassassin did not work. You can read posts http://forum.swsoft.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46221&highlight=spamassassin

Hi,
OK cool, I am seeing messages flagged as spam now. but this is what I want to do, using mailenable.
I want all the mail with subject in it ****SPAM****
to go to my junk email folder.
the wierd thing is, If i use that subject line from my gmail account to my inbox, it gets moved BUT when spamassassin flags it, it doesnt get moved, its like spamassassin is rewriting the headers after the filters.
does anyone at all know how to accomplish this?
Thanks
Dave

I think MTA Pickup event from MailEnable works first than when it is finished spamassassin from Plesk kicks in. So you should write your own program and use external spamassassin software (not Plesk).

I haven't heared of option as you describe (want) it: Plesk-Spam-Filter Collecting junk mail somewhere.

do you just set your mail to delete? or do you let it go to the users inbox flagged as spam?
to me, that is just not really getting rid of the spam problem.

Hehe?!... Well it seems you think of me as an beginner?!..

You're wrong...

I wrote my own program that uses NOD32 and spamassassin software and no need for Plesk Spam.

Why?
1. Its mine - i get data and do with them whatever i want (sort mails in ham, spam and marked-spam) than use and analyse them to teach Bayes.
2. NOD32 is THE BEST and the FASTEST virus scanner and removal tool available (also gets all the malware, trojans,...)
3. This way I optimize that all the spam mail doesn't need to be virus scanned ...
4. This way I also use "Collaborative spam filtering networks" that Plesk-Spam does not.
5 etc. etc. ...

Is it effective?!... For me yes... On my server I get approx. 2000-3000 mails per day. approx. 92-95% of them is SPAM and spam-mails not marked ***SPAM*** get only 2-4 a day thrue server spam-filters.

Cheers...
