Dear Users
I would like to bring to your notice a mojor devastating issue in plesk 9
As you are well are that in Plesk 8.6 there were following levels
Admin > Clients > domain
If we allocate 100 MB with 2 setups to a client he was able to allocate IE. 50 MB to 1 and 50 MB to other and after that it showed that resources exhausted .This is typically a case where overselling is not allowed .
Now with a Plesk 9 following changes happened . Apart from existing level a new level of reseller has been added which could create clients accounts as well and had features of overselling .
If we allocate 100 MB with 2 setups to a reseller following cases happened .
CASE1 : Oversellining ALLOWED : The reseller is able to create clients/domains with more than allocated resources .
CASE2 : Overselling is not allowed : The reseller is not able to create clients with more than allocated resources but is STILL ABLE TO CREATE DOMAINS WITH MORE THAN ALLOCATED RESOURCES .
THIS IS RESULTING INTO AN ISSUE WHERE THE PLESK CONTROL PANEL IS FORCING TO ALLOW OVERSELL . IF OVERSELL FEATURE IS OFF THEN EVEN DOMAINS SHOULD NOT GET CREATED WITH MORE RESOURCES THEN ALLOCATED .
CASE3 : In case when overselling is not allowed . If reseller creates a client within his limits then still client is able to oversell the disk space more than purchased value .
URGENT attention required in this regard by plesk before all of us get blown off.
