Cron hourly input/output errors

This afternoon I've started getting hourly messages with the following subject and message:

Subject:
Cron <root@tatooine> run-parts /etc/cron.hourly

Message:
/etc/cron.hourly/plesk-php-cleanuper:

Warning: failed to stat /var/lib/php/session/sess_kc546f89is4nub2q6ulgk303q1 : Input/output error
Warning: failed to stat /var/lib/php/session/sess_dbuc6uas3o299qf4it9vrjfu43 : Input/output error
+ around 18 more errors.

What is causing this and how can I resolve it?

I suppose that it is Plesk installed on VPS? In this case this warning may be caused by corrupted VPS filesystem. This can be fixed only from hardware node side by system administrator of this server.
