Question Direct a domain name already in plesk

Alex Devine

New Pleskian
Hi there,

I have ran into a problem which I am hoping some of the Gurus on here could help me with.

I have installed a Wordpress Multisite on domain1.com, this domain will be used to serve the files only, I do not want to reference this anywhere on search engines.

Within the same Plesk panel I have domain2.com which is currently live in the wild, I need for a way to be able to serve all the content from domain1.com onto domain2.com but never reveal domain1.com in the search engines.

So my visitors types in domain2.com and they see the content from domain1.com without ever revealing it has come from domain1.com.

I hope I have explained myself correctly and I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you in advanced,
Alex Devine.

Creating domain2.com in the same subscription as domain1.com and letting it use the same documentroot as domain1.com won't work?

Hey @Peter Debik , thank you very much for taking the time to respond, you will have to forgive me I am not a expert on this. How would one setup that up to work in the way you have described?

Alex

You can try to add domain2.com to the same subscription as domain1.com, but do not give it documentroot domain2.com, but the same documentroot (directory) of domain1.com. If domain1.com has documentroot /httpdocs, then use /httpdocs for domain2.com, too. It is not exactly what you'd call a "best practice" configuration, but it will probably do what you want to achieve.
