DNS forwading using CNAME

Hi,

Into the DNS setting of my domain test.com, I would like to create a new host name test.test.com and point it to an other domain 123.com.

What I try is to setup test.test.com using CNAME to 123.com but its do not work.

I also try test.test.com CNAME to www.123.com but it also not working.

Do I need to have a private IP for 123.com and point test.test.com to it to make this work?

Yep, just pointing CNAME to required domain would not work.

Maybe it would be easier to setup alias or redirect via Plesk?
