• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

DNS recursion between servers

SalvadorS

Regular Pleskian
Hello,

First of all thank you for reading this post and try to help me.

I have three diferent servers both of them with plesk 9.5. I create three different DNS, one for each server:

Server one: ns1.domain.com with the IP aaa.bbb.ccc.def
Server two: ns2.domain.com with the IP aaa.bbb.ccc.deg
Server three: ns3.domain.com with the IP aaa.bbb.ccc.deh

The "problem" is that every server answer its DNS but don´t answer the another server. For example if a domain hosted in server number three set its DNS as:

ns1.domain.com
ns2.domain.com

The domain doesn´t works. You have to put 3 DNS.

What I want is that any DNS can answer correctly to any domain hosted in any of the 3 servers. How can I do this? Maybe with the recursion settings in DNS configuration under configuration?

Can anybody help me?

Thanks a lot

Hi,

Login to Plesk, DNS settings, Transfer restrictions template, add new address, then add the other 2 server IP's.
Make it all of you servers.

Maybe help.. :)

Dear Andras,

Thanks for your reply. I did exactly what you said but it doesn´t works. I add both server IPs to the third server. Then I add a domain with two DNS (from both two servers) to the third server and it doesn´t works.

I only have to add the IPs or I have to do anything else?

Regards
