DNS zone serial number

Hi,
I'm on a Fedora Core box at GoDaddy with plesk 8.0.0. Whenever I make changes in DNS on the primary server only the primary knows of my zone changes. It appears the serial number is not being updated so the secondary does not back the primary up. How do I make changes and have the serial number be incremented.
