Question Do I Need Samba in Obsidian

Hi

I just started getting Nastygrams from the "Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI)" for a client that NetBIOS is open. I've blocked ports 137/138/139/445 and stopped the NetBIOS service, but still get the daily warnings. Using nbtstat verifies that the affected host is not found. Unfortunately the BSI still sends the email out daily.

I will be adding the disable netbios = true to the global section of the smb.conf on the server, but I am wondering if Samba is even needed.

The only thing I can find refers to the File Manager in Plesk 12.5 and it refers only to the File Manager.

We have Obsidian 18.0.58 installed, but Samba is there.

If it's not, how would I remove it, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Unless you connect your server as an add-on network disk to your local computer, it is unlikely that you need Samba. It is for sure not needed for Plesk services on the server itself.
